Hi!

Sorry it's been a little longer between posts than I would like, but I have been super busy getting stuff in order for Christmas and all that...

So, this post isn't going to be all that long, but I do have a few things to share tonight...

First, I have a new ACEO print auction up; this is an art card version of my original big eye "Bee Dragon" fantasy painting...He is a dragon with a "honeybee outfit" on! I just love the background on this one- honeycombs!!
To see more detail pictures, read the blurb, and perhaps even make a bid on this little guy, please follow the link below the picture:

Let me see here...I made cookies yesterday, and I ate a few too many today, so my brain is all sugared out...very hard to concentrate and think of things more than 2 minutes into the future...Dern cookies. I just cannot resist them!
Oh! I have finished up a new "sexy jester" pin up piece...This one is rather simple, with no apparent dessert near her...BUT, her entire outfit has been made of caramel! So, I have titled her "Caramelized". Even though she is simple in her theme and colors, I still really like her...it doesn't hurt that she is super cute, either!
Here's a small picture of her:

As with the rest of my pin ups, I am not selling the original (in fact if you are in desperate need of your very own original pin up, you are more than welcome to contact me with your ideas)...And I do not have prints of her up on my website yet, but...sometime soon after next week I should be updating my web art gallery with a bunch of new prints and posters...In the meantime, you can send me a message to print one of these pretty ladies up for you...8" x 10" limited edition prints are $16, and 11" x 14" posters are $19.95. If you do happen to email me about this, please be sure to specify which kind of print you would like- L/E or poster ;)

Now, I am back to my big (and seemingly never-ending) stack of "Little Books of Zombie Limericks" to fold, sew, and get packed up to ship all over the place...And I have some work to get done on a small dragon/lotus/lily pad painting...

xo!

Happy Sunday evening!

So...As most of you know, I have been dilligently working on my new book of zombie limericks (volume 3) and it is now completed and available for purchase!! I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am! I feel a little narcissistic that I am excited about something I made, but all the same...It's a very funny little book. My most funny yet, I think!
All of the important information, and ability to buy a copy, can be found at the link below the picture:

"The Little Book of Zombie Limericks" volume 3
And, of course, I might as well plug the other two volumes while I am at it :)

"The Little Book of Zombie Limericks" volume 1 is here

"The Little Book of Zombie Limericks" volume 2 is here

I also have the last jester pin up ACEO listed for auction tonight- she starts at just $0.99, with free shipping! This is a print of my original illustration "S'mores"- a firey red head on top of a giant s'mores sandwich! To view the auction listing, please follow the link below the picture:

Huh...for all the work I have been up to lately, I really don't have much to show for it! Of course, I could write about my numerous applications for art shows/publications and whatnot, but...that's boring stuff, as is all my accounting paperwork and half started (or half finished, I guess it depends on how you look at it) projects I've got in little piles around my desk...Some dragons, a few new 'Cartoon Aquarium' pieces, commission stuff, cards to make/mail...yeah...boring! LOL!

I suppose I will just end this little post and get back to the grind. Oh! For those of you who are signed up for my mailing list, I will be sending out a newsletter either tonight or tomorrow morning...It's all written up and ready to go, I just wanted to get a few more things in there before I sent it along!
Anyway...Rock out everyone!

xo!

Good evening...

Well, I have been working my butt off today, but haven't made any actual art...Paperwork, orders, chores...rather boring stuff, really, but it must get done! And now I am really tired...Maybe I will actually get to bed at a decent hour tonight!

So, I have a few new things to share! yay! The first is a new dragon painting; well, he is new to you all, but he's been patiently waiting to be posted for almost a week now..."Territorial" is an original acrylic painting, featuring a yellow-green dragon in flight over some bare winter trees...He has flown into raven territory, and is seriously about to regret it...Two little ravens scream and fly at him- how dare he get so close to their home?!?
Anyhow, this little fantasy painting measures 7" x 5" on a canvas panel...He is listed in my darklingemily etsy shop; to see detail pictures and perhaps even adopt this little treasure, please follow the link below the picture:

Next, I have an ACEO print auction up on eBay of my original painting "Mervamp"- a dark and mysterious creature, part mermaid, part vampire, lurking in the depths of a pond just below a cemetery...under a full moon! This ACEO (measures 3.5" x 2.5") print auction starts at a $5.00 bid, with my usual free shipping...To see the auction and make a bid, just follow the link below her picture:

This morning I put some finishing touches on my latest jester pin up illustration "Apple Turnover"; here she is in all of her upside down glory:

Again, I will not be offering the original for sale just yet, but if you would like to purchase a print or poster of her, please do email me with your preference- 8" x 10" limited edition, hand embellished print ($15) or 11" x 14" poster ($19.95), and I will make one up for you! Of course, if you order a print/poster, the watermark will NOT be on there :)

And, one last bit of news before I turn in for the night...I am excited to be featured in a "Gifts for Him" blog post by "Tales of a Retro Modern Housewife"...Well, it is not ME being featured, rather my "Procession to Breakfast' zombie print(s)...There are a loT of really beautiful gift ideas there, and I don't know about you, but the guys in my life are really hard to shop for...Not that they are picky or difficult, just that I never really know what to get a guy...so, this was very helpful for me! lol!
Here is the link to her blog post: Gifts for HIM gift guide blog.

Now, I am going the heck to BED!

Sunday, Sunday...:)
Let me see here...what do I have to write about...Oh, yes! I have put up an ORIGINAL dragon painting on eBay (I listed him yesterday)..."Nite Lite" has been living in my darklingemily etsy shop, but I have moved him over to an eBay auction...Which is bonus for y'all, because he is a little less than half the price he was before! Of course, this is an auction format listing, and he starts at just $15.00, free shipping, so it could potentially go higher...But still, you could get a really good deal on this ORIGinal painting!
(blah blah blah!!) Anyway, "Nite Lite" is a great big green dragon, curled around an entire kingdom castle, because he is a tired dragon and wants to fall asleep (he even has heavy eyelids!) but he is a wee bit afraid of the dark! This piece is somewhat small, at 7" x 5" (acrylic on a canvas panel)...To see the auction listing, and perhaps even make a bid, please follow the link below the picture:

"Nite Lite" original dragon painting auction

I also have a handful of ACEO (art cards) listed for auction- all my ACEO auctions start at just $5.00 with free shipping- to see all the current listings on eBay, please click here!

Since my last post, I have managed to get my newest "sexy jester" pin up completed. "Pumpkin Pie" is a mixed media illustration, featuring one of my jesters sitting atop a great big piece of delicious pumpkin pie, and behind her is a really big pumpkin! I am not offering the original for sale (yet, perhaps eventually I will), and sadly she is not posted in my website art gallery yet, but if you would like a print or poster of her, please feel free to email me with your preference of poster (11" x 14" for $19.95) or limited edition print (8" x 10" hand embellished, numbered, + signed) and I would be more than happy to get one to you!
Anyway, here is a picture of her, all finished up:

* If you do order a print from me, the watermark will not be on there! It is for "publishing" purposed only ;)

If you would like to see all the other sexy jesters, they are living here in my "Sexy Art" sub gallery ;)

And...Some rather poopy news...I know a while back I mentioned something about having a tutorial I wrote (how to make your own journals) getting published in Faerie Magazine. Well, it was supposed to be published in the Summer 2009 issue (which was late getting to the presses, and did not in fact come out until September)...I am sad to announce that I am NOT in there.

I had a whole shpeel written out that was a bit of a "wag of the finger", but thought that maybe I should just be polite and professional and not even bother with crabbing about it. I will say this one thing, as a smart cookie, a reader, consumer, and lover of fantasy and all other art and literature...Faerie Magazine could be a better publication than it is, and quite frankly I am glad that they left me out of their magazine, seeing as I dont find them to be very on point.

Rest assured, the first shpeel was much less nice about all this, but even still, very tame compared to what I would really like to say...However, in the words of Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that." ;)

"Laugh It Off"~ Unveiling the jesters

Here I am attempting to explain the motivation and the artistic reasoning behind this series...

My jesters are highly personal, in that I rarely create them unless I happen to be wading through some pretty
heavy things; they keep my head on straight and allow me the cynicism to grit my teeth and continue on.
I chose many of the quotes because of their duality, or simplicity; some are riddles, some are just funny.
Each has given me a smile at one point or another, and a few have even increased my patience in frustrating
situations.

So, the show is up!! "Laugh It Off" online and at Avenue A Cafe in Turners Falls, MA! I should have pics soon of the cafe with
my jesters on the walls.
Also, I have not yet set up purchase options for these pieces, as I have not decided exactly how I want to do it...
So if you are interested in a certain piece, or a print or poster of a certain piece, I will be happy to answer
your questions through email.

If you happen to be in the area, or want to make a special trip up to Turners Falls, the directions to Avenue A Cafe can be found here.

And...last but not least, to see the show online, please visit my EBSQ gallery section "Laugh It Off" show by clicking here.
Once there, you can click on each thumbnail to read about each piece and view detail pics.

I will have purchasing info available posted ASAP. You can email me directly from the EBSQ gallery, or from my website www.darklingtreasures.com

Ciao for niao :)
