Zombie Portrait Project:
Zombies are one of my vices. I am utterly obsessed with them, from a scientific standpoint as well as a fantastical one.
So, I have devised a project for myself that you can get involved in, too!
Here is, as stands, the "Zombie Portrait Project" outline:
a) Send me a picture of you. Now, I am painting you as a ZOMBIE, so please do not get all dolled up in your best outfit and such...
I am looking for photos of you making a goofy face, sneezing, bending over...something zombie-esq. You need not be dressed as a zombie either...
Feel free, as I would get a really thrill out of it, but make note that I may not paint you in the zombie attire you have on. Of course you may make requests-which I will always weigh in the creative process, however, I am using this project as a way to explore my inner zombie terrain.
**When emailing a pic for possible inclusion in the project, please mention "ZPP" in the subject line.
b) I will use the photos as reference for turning you into an awesome, scary, disgusting flesh eating zombie!
I will be painting in acrylics on canvas (stretched, canvas board, or sheets, depending on my supply).
c) if you provide me with your mailing address, I will send you the #1/25 limited edition prints (8" x 10") absolutely free of charge.
You will also get very first secret dibs on the original if you so choose to own it.
**You will of course keep all copyrights to the photo I use as a reference for the portrait. I will be making more than a few creative changes- insodoing, I will have created a new image and thus retain the copyright for said image. In not so lawyer terms~ You own photo, you own copyright to photo. Me make painting from photo, me own copyright to painting.
I will email you a consent/disclaimer form if you like, and I will of course be giving you credit for use of your photo. I am planning on naming each zombie painting after the person in the ref. photo, so if you would prefer I use a different name, please let me know. I will not be using last names, save at the request of the individual.
As far as photo quality goes, I do not need a super huge file. 300dpi is great, anything bigger is really unnecessary. jpgs only :)
I reserve the right to use or not use any photo of my choosing once they hit my inbox. I will contact you regarding my decision ASAP :) I do move pretty quick, too. If it's been over a week, and you haven't heard back from me, email me again.
Please be respectful of others and only send photos of yourself. And be respectful of me and keep it clean. (GREG)
